Cancellation & Refund Policy
Last updated: 10 Aug 2026
1. Two ways to book
At checkout, every traveller chooses one of two paths:
- Confirm Booking — pay 100% of the package cost. The booking status moves to Confirmed immediately, and a voucher and invoice are issued.
- Pre-book & Block — pay 5% of the package cost as a pre-booking amount to reserve the departure and lock the quoted price.
2. Pre-booking terms
- The 5% pre-booking amount is non-refundable if the client cancels.
- Pre-booking locks the price quoted at the moment of pre-booking.
- The price lock is valid for 15 calendar days from the date of pre-booking.
- The booking becomes Confirmed only once the full remaining balance is paid within this window.
- If the balance is not paid within the 15-day window, the pre-booking lapses, the price lock expires, and the 5% pre-booking amount is forfeited. The blocked seat is released back into general inventory.
You will receive reminders by email and WhatsApp/SMS at 7, 3 and 1 day before your price-lock expiry, plus a lapse notice if the window closes unpaid. A live countdown showing days and hours remaining is always visible on the tour page, at checkout, and in My Account.
3. Cancelling a Confirmed booking
- Cancellations 30+ days before departure: 75% of the package cost refunded.
- Cancellations 15–29 days before departure: 50% of the package cost refunded.
- Cancellations 7–14 days before departure: 25% of the package cost refunded.
- Cancellations within 7 days of departure: non-refundable.
- Any amount already paid as a non-refundable pre-booking amount is excluded from all refund calculations.
Certain third-party costs (visa fees already submitted, non-refundable flight/train tickets, special-event or peak-season bookings) may carry stricter supplier cancellation terms — these will always be disclosed on the specific tour page before you pay.
4. Refund processing
Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method within 7–10 business days of cancellation confirmation. GST and any payment-gateway charges already incurred are non-refundable where applicable under Indian tax law.
5. ZippoTrips-initiated changes
In the rare event ZippoTrips cancels a confirmed departure (e.g. insufficient group size on a Group Tour, force majeure), you may choose a full refund of all amounts paid (including any pre-booking amount) or a rebooking credit valid for 12 months.
